Teeling Single Grain is a non-age statement whisky. However, the company has gone on record to say that this expression is matured for a maximum of just six years. This is probably done to prevent the French oak casks from imparting too much of its characteristics to the lighter and sweeter distillate.
This single grain bottling is triple-distilled from 95% corn and 5% malted barley. Producing a new make spirit that’s lighter in texture and sweeter in taste. It’s the perfect distillate to be matured exclusively in ex-wine casks, as it’s able to balance out their tannic and drying effects.
Teeling Single Grain is aged in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine casks, not in ex-Bourbon barrels as one would presume. It’s predominantly corn grain based, which gives it a neat, sweetened character somewhat reminiscent of Bourbon. No chill-filtration was used so all the natural flavors were preserved.

The Indian barley used in the production comes from the foothills of Himalaya and is different to the European one because it yields less alcohol but gives out a higher flavor profile. The maturation itself happens in a tropical climate that is very harsh on the Angel share, over 8-10% evaporates each year... That is why Indian Whisky matures quite a lot faster than Scotch.
Produced by John Distilleries in Goa, India, the Paul John range of single malt whiskies (named after their Chairman) represents a move into premium spirits for a company who are already big players in the Indian molasses 'whisky' market.

Adam Teacher founded Ardmore Distillery in 1898 in the Highlands of Aberdeenshire to fill a specific need. His father, William Teacher, needed a steady supply of Whisky to support their famous blend — Theacher’s Highland Cream. Beam Suntory owns them these days, and until very recently, have treated this fine producer as a "blender’s distillery."
This Ardmore single malt was bottled up by Càrn Mòr, after being distilled in 2009 and resting in ex-bourbon barrels for 12 years. A limited run of 748 bottles were released in 2021 for the Strictly Limited series at 47.5% ABV.
