Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1948 by none other than Douglas Laing, and is now run by his two sons. They specialize in the finest craft Scotch Whisky stocks from all over Scotland and bottle them without coloring or chill-filtration, establishing themselves as the go-to guys when it comes to high-quality blended malt Whisky.
Their Scallywag is a Small Batch Whisky created exclusively from single malts of the Speyside region – which is in fact home to the majority of Scottish distilleries. The malts used in Scallywag include Mortlach, Macallan, Inchgower and Glenrothes, and many of these Whiskies are matured in ex-Sherry Butts, giving the richly spiced Scallywag its dark color and Sherry sweetness. Douglas Laing & Co. will tell you that if a single malt is a violin, then a blended malt is the whole orchestra – and this one is definitely well-tuned.

Copper
Sweetness jumps up like an excited puppy. Icing sugar, sultanas and candied ginger. A few hints of grain here and there, but sweetness steals the show.
The sweetness surprisingly retreats, revealing nutmeg and cereal. Vanilla comes in near the end. Cinnamon too, giving it a prickle of spice.
A pinch of oak spice joins the vanilla and sherry for the finish.

Located in Perthshire, Edradour Distillery calls themselves the "smallest distillery in Scotland." The entire production is run by two men who can produce a maximum of only eighteen casks per week. That’s a small fraction of what the larger distilleries crank out. But they still manage to produce no less than 30 different Single Malts. Basically, Edradour is a small-batch distiller where two Whiskey-loving blokes spend their days tinkering and experimenting with their Highland Single Malt Spirit to make a bunch of small-batch wonderfulness.
Caledonia was the Roman Latin name used by the empire to refer to the land that lay north of the River Forth. This is the region we call the Highlands today.
A fine single barrel release of Edradour’s signature Single Malt aged in an ex-Bourbon barrel and finished for up to five years in Oloroso Sherry wood.
Dougie MacLean is a Scottish singer-songwriter from Perthshire — quite near where the Edradour Distillery sits. One of his most famous songs is called "Caledonia" and it has been called the unofficial national anthem of Scotland. Edradour Caledonia 12 Year Old is a special single barrel release of Single Malt in partnership with the singern. It was initially matured in an ex-Bourbon Barrel and finished between four and five years in an Oloroso Sherry cask. It’s bottled at a perfect 46% ABV in its natural color without chill-filtration.
Ruddy Amber
Sweet, creamy and honeyed, with notes of Manuka honey, hints of dried fig and date, soft sherry and a hint of oak.
Full and rich with notes of berry fruits, and honey and butter on granary toast. More sherry, caramel and toasted almond.
Spicy, dry and sprinkled with a dusting of cocoa.

The GlenAllachie Distillery sits on the Aberlour stream near where it empties into the River Spey. It was built there — less than a mile from the more famous Aberlour Distillery at the base of Ben Rinnes — in 1967 to produce Spirit for Scotch blends. It has been purchased, sold, mothballed, and opened again no fewer than four times since then. But in 2017, Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson, and Trishia Savage merged a few Whiskey brands and this under-utilized distiller gem to form The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited — now with a new core range of four Single Malt Whiskies in the Speyside style.
A limited edition Single Malt aged in four woods and packed with complex flavor.
GlenAllachie's sixth batch of cask strength 10 year old single malt Scotch whisky is here! This expression has been crafted using whisky drawn from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons, as well as small helpings from virgin oak and Rioja wine casks.
Presented at a solid 57.8% ABV, this is some fabulously flavoursome Speyside single malt, packed with dried fruit and nutty malt notes.
Dark Bronze
Dark roast coffee, orange oil, raisin, walnut, cherry, and chocolate.
Damson and dates, followed by mocha, anise, more cherry, and treacle tart.
Honeyed malt, almond, a touch of citrus, dark chocolate mousse, fruit cake.
