Teeling Whiskey is renowned for its adventurous and innovative approach to cask finishes, which sets them apart in the world of Irish whiskey. They embrace the concept of using non-traditional cask types, allowing their whiskeys to absorb distinct flavors and aromas from these alternative barrels. This practice adds complexity and uniqueness to their expressions, creating a range of flavor profiles that appeal to whiskey enthusiasts seeking something different.
For years, Teeling has been collaborating with Irish craft beer maestros Galway Bay Brewery to make the 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout, which matures in Teeling Small Batch barrels. Well, that collaboration has come full circle with the release of Teeling Stout Cask Finish Irish Whiskey!
The casks that initially aged Teeling whiskey and then 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout have made their way back to Teeling to be filled with more tasty Irish whiskey for a finishing period of three months. This unique maturation has imparted a wealth of decadent, chocolatey notes from the stout to the whiskey, making this a top choice for indulgent sipping, or even using in an Irish coffee.

Only a handful of Irish Whiskeys still use the Single Pot Still process. Oddly, the term has nothing to do with the still itself. Rather, it means using a combination of both malted and un-malted barley in the mash. And where a Single Malt Whisky is usually distilled twice, Single Pot Still Whiskey is usually distilled three times.
A new expression in the Redbreast range, introduced in the latter half of 2016. This single pot still Irish whiskey was initially matured in a combination of American and European oak casks for 9 to 12 years, before being transferred over to first fill Oloroso Sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau for a year.

Irish Distillers stubbornly adhere to their time-tested methods and practices for making the world’s most popular Irish Whiskeys, including Jameson, Powers, Paddy, Redbreast, Green Spot, and Midleton. The Good men at Redbreast set themselves apart by being one of the very few remaining single pot still Whiskeys and provide four variants of it — all of them top-notch.
It's Batch B1/22 of Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength here. Triple distilled in copper pot stills, from a combination of malted and unmalted barley, this single pot still Irish whiskey matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Expect the classic, full flavoured Redbreast profile, but at a punchier cask strength of 58.1% ABV. One to cosy up with on a cold winter's day.
